About Me

I am Akshay Kumar aka Astro Barnett and I hail from Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) which lies in the northern part of India.  My Primary education upto higher education took place in JNV Kotranka Rajouri (J&K)-India. After completing my bachelor's and master's degrees from India. Presently, I am doing astrophysics and cosmology at the DIPARTIMENTO DI FISICA E ASTRONOMIA "GALILEO GALILEI"  at the Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy.

I grew up in a small rural farming town in Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir, India where the sky was stunningly beautiful and dark. After looking at the sky it seemed those stars are calling my name that caused me to ask questions like How many stars are there? What are they like? What is beyond what I can see? I still remember that bunch of stars in an arc that looked weird at that time and later on I understood that was our Milky Way galaxy. So, I can say that goes out and that sight of the universe took my interest in Astronomy.

For me, learning physics was the absolute enjoyment of understanding the things that you visually perceive and experience through the principles that govern them. Similarly, mathematics to me was a beautifully imagined game with its own set of rules; never a dull moment when it comes to problem-solving. I  have continued my interest and today I am in one of the prestigious institutes 

[ dfaunipd ] and doing astrophysics which is quite a satisfying job for me. 

I want to become a great Astrophysicist and love to work in the field of Galaxies evolution. For me, doing astrophysics is really a cool job, as it always excited me about new discoveries, and it’s a tool to understand the mysteries of the universe and answer to various unsolved problems. Curiosity is the reason for every discovery, and I am curious from my college time to understand this mysterious cosmos.
